Sewer & Drain Cleaning
Blocked Drains Blocks Revenue
If you own or operate a restaurant, commercial or industrial kitchen, sewer and drain cleaning are critical to maintaining a healthy, productive operation. You know how difficult it is when you have drain stoppages and blockages.
Backed-up drains and overflowing water are major contributors to slips and falls, which are the single largest cause of accidents in restaurants according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics. Standing water caused by clogs can also contribute to the outbreak of drain flies and sewer flies, which cannot be restrained by pest control companies.
And the watchful eyes of the government and states do not stop with clogged drains.
Waste water regulators monitor municipal lift stations to determine if a volume commercial customer is releasing grease-laden water. If not corrected with sewer and drain cleaning the user could be fined and repeat offenders shut down. Further, if the issue has been treated with bleach or another harmful chemical and is then flushed into the water supply, this can also pose an issue for operators.
Drain and sewer cleaning should not be trusted to anyone other than an experienced commercial kitchen service provider who knows your type of business. Grease Masters trained technicians have seen it all and fixed it all. The last thing you want or need is to have your kitchen or other areas of the facility shut down because of a blocked drain.
Architects and plumbing designers, as well as contractors do not always take in to consideration sewer and drain cleaning needs of the end users. Many times, owners inherit problem access to the sewer lines. It’s for that reason we make specific recommendations to prevent and or resolve issues.

Preventative Maintenance
Any establishment that discharges Fats, Oils and Grease (FOG) in their wastewater into the sanitary sewer can experience difficult drain or sewer stoppages.
While regularly maintained grease traps will prevent FOG build-up in sewer lines, it can happen. Of course, if you’ve inherited a poorly maintained operation that has not had routine sewer and drain cleaning, slow or blocked drains can be a major headache.
Hydro flushing and line jetting are the preferred methods for preventative maintenance. Click here for full information about operations like yours that are using our preventative sewer and drain cleaning services to keep them up and running.
Routine sewer and drain cleaning can prevent emergency situations … but, when backups arise, no problem. Count on our 24-hour emergency service.
Restricted flow and blockages can result in overflowing manholes, basement backups and Sanitary Sewer Overflows (SSOs) that can discharge into storm drains. We’ll quickly assess the problem and then work efficiently to correct it with the least amount of disruption possible. Usually, cabling is the best option for emergency backups.
Grease Masters uses different types of cables to open drains. A drill with a very small cable is used for small sewer lines; while other lines may require cables that are over 1 ¼ inches across with up to a 4” cutter blade. We use the right tool for each sewer and drain cleaning challenge. Click here for more detailed information on our cabling services.
Other areas of restaurants and commercial establishment get a lot of wear and tear. This includes restrooms. Toys and items that should never get flushed down a toilet wind up causing blocked toilet drains, backing up toilets, and main line stoppages. As part of our sewer and drain cleaning services, we can pull or take up the toilet to clear tough stoppages, and we can replace and repair broken commercial toilets, sinks and faucets. Our 24-hour emergency service to restaurants keeps your restrooms up and running.
